Applying for a Grant

The primary goal of the organization is to strengthen educational and cultural opportunities for the citizens of Newberry County (South Carolina) and to encourage the appreciation of Newberry County's history.  A secondary goal is to meet humanitarian needs in our county.

Generally, grants of under $10,000 are paid lump sum while grants from $10,000 to $100,000 are paid over several years.

In 2003, we changed our grant application process from regular mail to an online system.   This change has allowed us to save postage and process all applications months earlier.    Our turn around time for a grant application has been reduced from around 9 months to around 9 days.

Step 1

All grant requests should be submitted by e-mail.    The Board will electronically process your request and usually give you an e-mail reply in a few days.   In some cases, nothing else is evolved.
E-Mail Us

Step 2

In some cases,  additional information will be required.   By e-mail we will suggest the necessary forms and/or what other information  should be sent to us by e-mail, fax, or regular mail.  Occasionally we may request a meeting or site visit.

Eligibility

Taylor Foundation makes grants  to organizations that are tax exempt with a 501 (c) (3) classifications from the Internal Revenue Service.  We do not consider requests from general fund raising organizations such as the United Way, Red Cross, or Heart Association.  We do not consider requests for deficit financing or loans.
